FOOD IN SHORTS
Full Moon Movie Night at the Ramsay Rink

A FREE family-friendly event

Date: Saturday, September 29th, 2012
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
(get there early to pick your perfect spot)
Location: Ramsay's outdoor covered rink

2040 Ramsay Street SE (corner of Ramsay St. & Margaret Ave. SE)

The Program

Feast on these tasty titles curated by local award winning filmmakers, Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis.

Popeye: The Spinach Overture by Max Fleischer Studio  (USA)
Butter by Serik Abisev (Kazakhstan)
Dinner for Two by Janet Perlman (Canada)

INTERMISSION

A Dozen Ways by Andrea Mann (Canadian filmmaker & Ramsay resident)
The Cake by Stephane Aubier & Vincent Patar (Belgium)
Wild Life by Amanda Forbis & Wendy Tilby (Canadian filmmakers & Inglewood residents)

and maybe 2 more delectable tidbits....

And that's not all:

The inimitable JOHN RUTHERFORD, Calgary singer/songwriter, will be your MC and pre-film entertainment - all on the theme of food!

Special guest and Ramsay resident, Andrea Mann, will be on hand to introduce her film, A Dozen Ways.

A popular Inglewood singer/songwriter is also working up something special for us: after the intermission, Adrienne Weare & The Vinaigrettes will perform a cautionary tune called Preservation.

Julie Van Rosendaal will be the MC to wind up the evening, when we'll light wish lanterns and float them up towards the full moon.

There´ll be popcorn, movie snacks and drinks for sale (cash only please).

You can park on the road nearby.  The skate shack washrooms will be open.

And don't forget to BYOC+B+F (chair, blanket and FLASHLIGHT)! That's right... bring your own lawn chair, blanket and flashlight! (You'll collectively be the spotlight on the live entertainment, and there'll be more full moon fun with flashlights...)

And... a big THANK YOU!

An enormous thank you to all our fans and supporters who took the time to VOTE for this project to receive a Grassroots Initiative Grant from Calgary 2012. We are thrilled to report that our application was successful! We will be using our $1200 grant to put on a spectacular event for you to enjoy.

The Ramsay Rink is a unique structure that is one of a kind in Calgary’s inner city. A covered outdoor rink, it’s the perfect place to sip a hot drink while enjoying the nip of an autumn night with neighbours, friends and family.
